A Magnificent Monday!
We’ve had a great day with everyone super-keen to do their jobs and raring to go! ‘C’ was the new sound for today and we read stories, spotted the c sound in books and made caterpillars that are climbing up our classroom window! We also had a go at blending some sounds together and seeing if we could read some new words. Everyone tried really hard at this and we even had someone who could read every word they saw! We’ll keep working away at blending sounds as it is tricky but once we get it, we’ll be off and running!
This afternoon we had a look at a model of the human body and had great fun taking it apart and finding out about our internal organs. We focused on the heart and the job it does; see if your child can remember one thing they learned about this incredible organ.
For the next four weeks we have a student teacher working with us in P1, please join me in welcoming Ms Helen MacLean to our lovely class!

Another fantastic Monday in P1. I do enjoy looking through the photos and seeing what they are all up too. Although Ieuan likes to look at the ones of just him!! Lol

They’re all quite fascinated with their bowels! Lots of hilarity in class! Hope Abby’s feeling better and we see her back at school soon?

Ciara seems to be loving every minute and it’s fun listening to her accounts of the activities. Tonight she compiled a list of over 25+ words beginning with “P”; Thankfully, she left “Pee and Poo” to the last! 🙂 I’m so glad we’re not the only ones!! 🙂

She has spent the afternoon putting me in the recovery position, drawing pictures of bones & blood and arranging her number flash cards in order…so not a totally wasted afternoon!
