Another woodland adventure!
We had another lovely morning in the woods today and learned a lot about the animals that might live there. So what did we get up to?
- We worked with a partner to run around the wood and find some furry woodland friends. We then had a think about what we already know about these animals and what we’d like to find out about them when back at school.
- Grace took us to a special pine tree that had LOTS of evidence that squirrels had been there – see if your child can remember what we found on the ground around this tree.
- We played a game called, ‘Squirrel Run Home!’ which taught us how humans can affect the woodland and the animals that live there. Ask your child what happened at the end of the game after the woodcutter had chopped down so many trees.
- We had another picnic (of course!) and enjoyed a snack together before having some free time to just run around and play!
We’ll be off to the woods again next Monday so don’t forget to send your child to school with their wellies!

My favourite part of yesterday was searching for woodland animal teddies with Ally. We had a great day and played Squirrel go home too. Rebecca managed to get back in the game, very clever.
