Community Explorers – Achnagairn Castle

Today we went on another journey around Kirkhill! We visited Achnagairn Castle and were given a tour! We learned about the history of the house and we learned about what it is used for now. We met members of the staff team and learned about the jobs that they do in the house.

I wonder what you can remember from today?

Can you impress someone at home with an amazing fact?

Can you share your favourite part of the house?

A big thank you to the Achnagairn staff who gave up their time to show us around and answer our questions.

Ronan tells me his favourite room was the ballroom where you can have weddings! 😀

The ballroom was very fancy! I wonder if anyone can remember what was special about the floor?

Annie says that “if you go upstairs there is a special bedroom and if you have a wedding in the ballroom then you get to sleep there for one night and it has a hot tub. There is a place where you keep all your diamonds and it has a door and then you pull a wall in front of it and it makes it camouflage,” Annie’s favourite part in the house was going through a tunnel which just goes straight and round and round for kids to play in. She also liked the tunnel from the bedroom through to the nursery.
