P1 Home Learning…
One of your child’s Home Learning jobs this week is to take a look at the pictures below, see if they can tell you what they are and share one thing they have learned about each one.
Leave a comment with their ideas so they can earn themselves a House Point! If your child wants to leave their own comment then do encourage that. They can write random letters and you can add what their writing says!
Can’t wait to read what everyone remembers…

Stars
Mummy:
Abby tells me that the sun is hot and that Naomi & Braden are in the sun group and that she is in the moon group. She is glad she is in the moon group as that is where her ‘Daddy on the Moon’ lives!!!
She tells me that the stars twinkle in the sky and Alana is in the stars group.
She has learnt that people live on the earth planet and that it spins around. Abby tells me that planet earth goes around the sun.

Ieuan says they are small because they are so far away. We love looking at the stars at night.
He keeps saying the moon is made of water too?

Well done Ieuan! Don’t forget to put up your two House Points on Monday!
We read about scientists thinking there might be ice under the surface of the moon so maybe that’s where he’s getting the water idea from?.

Braden – Sun, Earth, Moon and Stars. Braden also showed me how the earth tilts and spins around the sun (with me as the sun, and him as a tilted spinning earth). Dizzy fun!

Archie told us he is in the ‘Sun’ Group. The pictures are of; the Sun, the Moon, Stars and Earth.
He remembers that stars are balls of hot gas and the moon is made of rock, metal and dust. He tells us that the Sun is actually a star.

Bethan tells me she’s in the Moon group. She said: before we were born we were stardust. The sun is a star and the picture (top left) is of hot balls of gas. Before Earth was made, there were big swirls of gas going around and around and big rocks were going together and making the Earth. The moon has mountains on it and loads of water and aliens live on it 🙂
