Magnificent Me!

What fun we’ve had today in our topic time! Gavin came to visit our class to talk about how to keep ourselves safe and what we do if something goes wrong. We all knew that 999 is the number to call if there’s an emergency! Gavin showed us how to move someone into the ‘recovery position’ to make sure we keep them safe and we all had a go at this move. We then talked about our skin and how amazing it is at keeping us dry, protecting our bodies and healing itself…then the plasters and bandages came out and we all dressed our VERY serious wounds!

This afternoon we carried on with our topic and started thinking about our senses…there were some lovely things to taste and I was most impressed at some of the adventurous eaters in P1 who nibbled on seaweed, passion fruit, capers, pretzels, rocket, lemon, grapefruit and macaroons.  We certainly put our tastebuds to the test this afternoon.  The sweet tastes were the favourite by far with chocolate getting a BIG thumbs-up!

Ieuan loved the fig (funny how you ask them time and time again at home to try it!!) He also loved the pretzels. What great fun they all had today by the looks of the photos.

Figs? They weren’t on the menu but Ieuan was the only one who LOVED the passion fruit!
