A sleepy hedgehog…

Today Bramble Berry was very confused! She kept trying to talk to her hedgehog friend and the hedgehog kept dozing off! It was all very confusing! Luckily our knowledgeable team of fairies and elves (all of P1!) knew why… the hedgehog should be hibernating! We taught Bramble Berry lots about hibernation and then created our own hedgehogs. We then each made a hibernacula for our hedgehogs.

I wonder if you can teach someone at home about hibernation? Here are some key words to help you out.

hibernation   hibernacula   insulation   torpor   waterproof   winter

Challenge Question!

Robbie found a ladybird in the leaves… do ladybirds hibernate? Leave your answers as a comment on this post!

After hot juice and a snack we had time for some leaf jumping before heading back to school! 🙂

Love the photos! Logan is really enjoying visiting the woods.
Logan says Ladybirds do hibernate during the winter. They hide in trees and under leaves.

Lyla really enjoyed making her hedgehog, she says Ladybirds do hibernate in winter they look for somewhere warm like under leaves or in houses.
