If you go down to the woods today…

…you might just hear a woodland orchestra!

Today was all about the five senses again but today we focused on hearing!

First we listened out for all of the sounds we noticed in the woods, we tried cupping our ears and closing our eyes to see if that helped us to hear even more. We then found a quiet spot in the woods and made sound maps in our nature diaries, recording the sounds we heard and where they were coming from. We even had a go at creating a rhythmical woodland orchestra… Can you remember what your instrument was?

Throughout the morning we recorded the sounds around us and when we got back to class we all listened and tried to work out where we were when we recorded it and what we were hearing. I will try to add the files to the blog so that you can enjoy our noisy morning too! 🙂
