Ness Bookfest 2018

This morning we participated in Ness Bookfest Read-a-thon. We had to read for pleasure for 20 minutes between 09:15 and 09:45. We enjoyed the time to quietly read. We will be sending the total number of children who participated to the Ness Bookfest organisers who will total the amount of schools who participated and we hope to be a part of breaking a Highland record!

We then had the opportunity to visit Inverness Library to engage with an author talk by Elizabeth Wein. She told us the inspiration behind her lastest WWII themed book; Firebird! It was incredible to hear and she had the most amazing stories to tell us. Some of us purchased the book and she kindly signed them for us. Thank you to Elizabeth for such an excellent insight into how an author creates their stories. Visit her website for more background information, resources and titles of other books:

Ask us what we learnt when we get home. Hopefully you will be wowed with some pretty cool facts about the Soviet Union.
